Helen teaches French and Spanish classes and is an enthusiastic player and singer with the Frome Ukulele Club.
When Helen was 5 years old, she met her cousin's French exchange partner. "Why isn't he talking properly?" she asked her mum. "That's called French, darling!" came the reply and that was the start of Helen's love affair with French language and culture.
Helen went on to study French at university, spending her year abroad teaching English in a lycée in Aix-les-Bains, Savoie. Following her degree, she studied for a PGCE in secondary French with Spanish, before embarking on a French teaching career in secondary schools in Cornwall and New Zealand.
Since returning to the UK, Helen has gone on to have three daughters, and is now thoroughly enjoying reigniting her passion by teaching adults for FCE. She also teaches EFL and is a French GCSE Writing examiner.
Helen can change seamlessly from one language to the other and speaks like a native in both.
