Yoga teacher, Elaine Marie Ewens will guide you through a series of postures, plus breathing, sound and visualisation practices. By individual attention she will aim to ensure you stretch and strengthen yourself in a safe and healthy way.
'Gentle' yoga is slow, powerful, mindful and subtle; slow yoga having been shown to build physical health and mental resilience. Elaine qualified as a yoga teacher in the Krishnamacharya/Desikachar tradition where the practise is modified to fit the individual. The breath is key, intending to create a serene, meditative state in the practitioner.
A different theme will be explored each term – for example 'balance' or 'happiness' - creating a light hearted but insightful entry into the world of yoga and yourself.
No prior experience of yoga is needed; beginners are really welcome. All genders are encouraged and the classes are suitable for most abilities and ages.
You have amazing teaching skills and it is really heart warming and uplifting to be in your classes. They say 'teaching is a work of Heart' and you certainly reflect that.
